Kelly beats Love in playoff

ORE HILL - Mike Kelly defeated Ken Love on the first playoff hole to win the Iron Masters Spring Medal Championship last Thursday. Both shot 152 in regulation. Spencer Hinish (155) finished third, and Ken Emigh (156) was fourt.

1904 — Mrs. Charles Durnell becomes the first woman to own a Kentucky Derby starter and winner when long shot Elwood wins the 30th Run for the Roses. Elwood is also the first Derby winner to be bred by a woman, Mrs. J.B. Prather.
